In the clumsy jungle of concretes, a compact minimalist apartment, yet lavish, is what a dream of an urban dweller. The entire interior is developed keeping the modern urban lifestyle in mind, even the furniture is designed by her to fit the need.
The basic functional distribution of the project is a welcoming foyer/lobby, entering to a formal living with a sitting arrangement aligned with a water body, followed by a dining hall with a kitchen in one side availing a servant quarter, and on the other side a small peaceful study space, connecting to the dining is a cozy family living corner. A total of three bedrooms, consisting of a master bedroom for the couple, a child bedroom, and a guest bedroom with separate toilets.
The landscape has been an integral part of the project, which has been designed by the Principal Architect of the building, Rafiq Azam, and later fine-tuned by Architect Zannat Jui. The basic concept of the landscape is to keep the ground floor transparent, As the site is north-facing, a water body is used, and hence staggered on the front to create a fountain for the passerby to enjoy. The guardroom rooftop has a patch of grass to reduce the internal heat. Trees like Indian Almond, Shonalu (cassia fistula) are used where the sunlight reaches. A beautiful space is designed as a part of the landscape, where a waterfall is created to give an effect of the rainfall sound, which reaches till the top floor, giving a relaxing feeling.
