Pune Chapter

On 21 June 2026, the Pune launch of the monograph Rafiq Azam: Old Dhaka – New Story: Architecture in Bangladesh, edited by Rosa Maria Falvo and published by Rizzoli New York, was held at the Pune Design Show at Silver Palace, Pune. Organized by A&i Digest in association with the Architects, Engineers and Surveyors Association (AESA), the event brought together architects, educators, designers, and students for an afternoon of architectural dialogue.

The programme featured a keynote lecture by Prof. Md. Rafiq Azam, followed by the official book launch and an engaging conversation with Ar. Prasanna Desai. Ar. Ravi Gadre and Ar. Tushar Kothawade also joined the programme, contributing to discussions on architecture, urban transformation, and the importance of contextual and climate-responsive design.

Prof. Rafiq Azam was felicitated by Ar. Ravi Gadre and the AESA committee. The felicitation ceremony was attended by Monica Danait, Amit Danait, B. L. Manjunath, Ar. Andy Rahman, Ar. Bijoy Ramachandran, and members of the Architects, Engineers and Surveyors Association (AESA), recognizing Prof. Azam's distinguished contribution to architecture and his continued efforts to foster architectural dialogue across borders.

The event concluded as a meaningful celebration of architecture as a medium for cultural exchange, bringing together leading architects, academics, and design professionals in an inspiring dialogue on design, heritage, and the built environment.
