RATB

Rafiq Azam Travel Bursary, an architecture-focused travel and learning initiative established by architect Prof. Rafiq Azam(FIAB), Principal Architect of SHATOTTO – architecture for green living.

The programme was formally launched around 2010 and was created around a simple idea: architecture students learn deeply by travelling, observing, experiencing and exchanging knowledge. BRAC University records describe its purpose as helping students understand culture, heritage, climate, context and materials through travel, both within Bangladesh and internationally.

The bursary initially supported architecture students to travel to another country, covering travel expenses and subsistence . For over 15 years, RATB has connected young architects and students across Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia through travel, architectural learning, cultural exchange and shared experiences .
