Rafiq Azam Travel Bursary (RATB)-2024

On May 2, 2023, RATB winners Annie Murphy and Samuel Jones from Australia, along with Chamin Kalubowila from Sri Lanka, visited Bangladesh to explore its rich architectural heritage. They toured both the old and new parts of Dhaka, admiring the timeless beauty of Mughal architecture and the revitalized green spaces of Old Dhaka, thoughtfully redesigned by Shatotto Architecture for Green Living. The visitors also appreciated Bangladesh's contemporary architectural advancements, with the Aga Khan Academy as a standout.

Their visit concluded with an insightful presentation at BRAC University on May 10, 2023, where they shared their experiences. The event, coordinated by RATB’s Ar. Zannat Jui, included a motivational message for students, emphasizing the importance of exploring architecture beyond borders for broader learning.
